This scholarship is made available to students who are willing to take admissions in the full-time undergraduate courses at the University Georgia College and State University.
The scholarship contributes to half of the total tuition waiver. However, deserving candidates are also given a full tuition fee waiver.
The following are the essential requirements for the applying candidates
- The candidate must have excellent records in the academic as well as the extracurricular activities
- The candidate must be a nonresident
- The candidate should have either one of the J-1 or F-1 status on their student visa
- The candidate should submit a completely filled application form for college admission and also another one for International Student Scholarship
- The candidate should be an undergraduate
- The candidate should have a minimum of 2.5 GPA
There are no restrictions. The applying student can be of any nationality. However, they are required to move into the US and take admissions in the University Georgia College & State University to avail the scholarship.
There are no restrictions on the discipline of students. Candidates in all the different streams can apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded every year and the candidates can apply for a renewal as long as they remain academically qualified.
Number of applications
The maximum number of students taken under this scholarship program is 35.
The scholarship is decided based on the number of funds available.
The amount awarded through the scholarship id decided based on the merits of the student, the financial requirements as well as the willingness of the student in providing contributions to the internationalization process in the campus. The amount can go up to $18,000 US Dollars on a yearly basis. It is a full scholarship money and is not repayable.
How to apply?
The form for the scholarship is included together with the college admission form. It is an online process. Furthermore, the students who apply earlier have a greater chance at securing the scholarship. Therefore, it is advisable to submit early.
Students applying for the spring semester should submit the application form by September 1 and those applying for the fall semester should submit by April 1. However, it should be noted that candidates who have taken admissions by the 1st of February are automatically taken in for many scholarship programs.
